Enhanced training by Dr Art Croft – Spinal Research Institute San Diego. 4-Module Course on Whiplash, (taken 4 times since 1993). Auto Crash Reconstruction, Biomechanics, Physics of a crash: Vectors, Delta-V, G-forces of the vehicle, shoulder, neck, and head (average/mean acceleration v peak acceleration-where the injury occurs); head-on, rear-end, side crashes; Machine v Man I and II: Low Speed Crash Testing Videos; F=ma and other equations; soft tissue injury articles, abstracts, and publications, Narrative Report Writings, Rebuttals on the Defense, and their DME (defense medical exam), Daubert and Frye, and jury educationals: Posters, Crash Videos, Anatomical Spine, Radiographs, MRI, and CT scans.

Whiplash Seminar, Module 4:
WHIPLASH Injury BIOMECHANICS and Traumatology. Dr. Arthur Croft, with the Spinal Research Institute of San Diego, talked about whiplash injuries, the biomechanics of a car crash, traumatology received in a car crash, depositions, and court appearance. Mr. Alex Gelman, Esq., defense attorney for over 30 years, presented about his experience in the courtroom, handling soft tissue injuries, motor vehicle collisions, questions asked by the defense, Dauber and Fry, cross-examination of the defense doctor, cross-examination of the treating doctor, direct examination, MIST-mild impact soft tissue injury, “Common Sense” and how this would mislead the jurors, inadmissible evidence, Motions in Limine, demonstrative evidence, and more.
Biomechanics 100+ hrs
Studies of all the muscles, ligaments, and how they leverage the movement of all the bones of the body, appendages, lumbars (low back), thoracic, neck and head.
Orthopedics 50+ hrs
Studies on all the bones of the body. Study of the spine, arms, hands, shoulders, hips, ankles and feet and all their ranges of motion. Study of the articulating (attaching) joints of all the above.

Study of the Energy (Physics) of Ionizing Radiation. Study proper radiological equipment and how it works. Study of x-ray films and processing. Proper imaging techniques. Study of patient placement for all of the x-ray views.
Scoliosis 26 + hrs
The study of abnormal spinal curvatures of the body (greater than 10 degrees) The study of the etiology (causes) and treatment of this process. Measuring of the convexity and concavity of the abnormal lateral curvatures of the spine.

Study of the AMA Guides to permanent impairment ratings. How to use the 396+ pages of the Guides to evaluate a patient`s injuries so the courts may justify a monetary award for pain and suffering due to an accident/injury.

How to obtain the proper documentation on an injury patient. What constitutes the required entry documents, exams, x-rays.
Specials 96+ hrs
EMG scans, rehab evaluation with rehab of the neck and/or low back. Activities of daily living changes, documentation with SOAP notes for the Subjective-patient`s assessment of their symptoms. Objective-evaluation by the doctor using exam forms, x-ray studies and special diagnostic testing outcomes. Assessment of the patient`s Progression and Plan for the patient`s recovery.

Study of the necessary essential paperwork documenting the patient`s injuries and treatment plan for their full or partial recovery from a work place injury.

Study of what is actually good to ingest. Trans-fatty acids, NutraSweet, aspartame, MSG, propylene glycol (found in salad dressings) and other excitotoxins and why they are bad. Study of different types of water and their values. Why does your home need a point source water filtering system?

Orthotic Training and Fitting 24 + hrs
Study of durable medical orthotics for the enhancement of the body`s biomechanics. Study of shoe orthotics to correct improper posture resulting in low back pain, knee pain and headaches. Cervical orthosis for neck treatment and shoe lifts to balance abnormal pelvic distortions- unleveling hip and leg length discrepancies.

The study of the skull bones and how they move about their respective sutures and their orientation with each other. The study of the frontal, parietal, temporal, occipital, sphenoid and zygomatic bones and their interconnection. The study of how these bones are injured when concussed.
